Gabb Phone Z2: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

What is the Gabb Phone Z2 phone?

The Gabb Phone Z2 is a remarkable smartphone for kids of all ages to stay connected. Its 5.5 inch display gives it a sleek design that’s easy to carry around and use. It has 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM, and a MicroSD card slot for increased data storage.

What phone plan is compatible with the Gabb Phone Z2?

Gabb Phones have their own plans through Gabb Wireless that work best for you family:

  • 2 Year Contract is $17.99/mo
  • 1 Year Contract is $19.99/mo
  • No Contract Plan is $24.99/mo

You can also add MMS for an additional $5 per month and a warranty plan for $4.99/month.

What are the Gabb Phone Z2 features?

The Z2 Gabb Phone is loaded with features that make it both a fun and safe option for kids, including:

Just as important is what’s not included: There’s no app store, which keeps kids from downloading games or time-wasting apps. And without internet access, there’s no risk of kids stumbling on adult content. Gabb Phones have everything your kids need—and nothing they don’t.

What is Gabb Wireless?

Established in 2018, Gabb Wireless is a mobile phone provider focused on keeping kids safe. Gabb’s goal is to keep parents connected with their kids through age-appropriate smartphones. These phones have restrictions that keep kids safe and encourage life beyond the screen.

Take it from the founder of Gabb Wireless, Stephen Dalby, “There’s more to life than what’s on our phones. Today, Gabb goes even further in promoting the movement we started two years ago to protect children and encourage them to achieve their dreams.”

How does Gabb Wireless keep kids safe?

Every parent is concerned about the safety of their kids. Gabb takes that mission seriously.

Having a phone helps kids stay in contact no matter where they are. To keep kids secure while they’re connected, Gabb Phones feature a fingerprint reader.

Once unlocked, Gabb Phones can talk and text. But because the online world includes dangerous content, Gabb Phones have no internet, app store, or social media access. With a Gabb Phone, there’s no need to monitor what your kids are doing on their device.

By blocking these applications, Gabb Phones encourage kids to have real-world experiences. There’s so much more to life than scrolling through news feeds, and the Gabb Phone keeps kids from getting addicted to technology at an early age.

Y'all need a notes app for the phone

  • Michael Tembrina on Jan 11, 2022 10:25 PM

We love Gabb Wireless but when will you allow curated apps for my teen - he needs Outlook, Spotify, Google Maps. Troomi and PinWheel already have this and I’m hoping you add it soon to the Gabb Portal.

I wish i could get one but in order for me to get one i have to get straight A's all semester and wait till next october and save up all the money for it.

Taya! We are rooting for you. You can do it!

I'm a little surprised that the Z2 has no NOTEPAD in it's suite of apps. To me this is a basic piece of smartphone functionality. Hope they fix this problem soon.

This is great feedback! Thank you for sharing, Bradley.

Does the Gabb Wireless allow Dexcom apps? My younger sister is in need of a phone that is safe but is diabetic.

  • Gabb Wireless on Apr 20, 2022 09:48 AM

We currently do not have app capabilities--but we will absolutely keep this in mind in our future developments!

  • Joe on May 03, 2022 09:44 AM

I tried loading some movies and TV shows on the Z2, but the sound does not work.

  • Janis Erickson on May 03, 2022 11:16 AM

What is Gab guard, and is it a monthly bill?

  • Gabb Wireless on May 03, 2022 11:37 AM

Hi Janis, Gabb Guard is the next step in providing advanced spam blocking technology for Gabb Phones to stop spam calls and texts from reaching kids’ Gabb devices. It is automatically added to your monthly plan for $0.99/month.

  • Gabb Wireless on May 03, 2022 11:49 AM

Hi Joe, Our devices are not meant for loading movies and TV shows so there will likely be some errors. You could try making sure the volume is working on the device--otherwise we do not have a way to troubleshoot this as the device is not meant to have that capability to begin with.

  • Grace on May 06, 2022 04:39 AM

Hello. My teen managed to lock their phone to a finger print and pattern code for getting into her phone. I'm concerned about risky text messages. Is there any way to access it without losing her data? Thanks.

  • Gabb Wireless on May 10, 2022 11:09 AM

Hi Grace, for your child's' security there is the option for fingerprint locking mode. This is to protect their personal information and data. It is a good idea to have an understanding of openness with your child and talk about what they are doing on their phone. There is currently no way for you as a parent to unlock it if they have the fingerprint enabled, but this is something we will bring up to our product team. Thank you for the feedback.
